Russell (Russ) Urban a native New Yorker got his start in underground dance music in 1993. He won a mixtape contest hosted by Satellite Records NYC, which earned him a guest spot at the famous weekly party called ‘Fusion’. Six records into his first set and the guest spot turned into a residency. Russ quickly developed a following and started playing some of the largest parties in the Tri-state area. By 1995, he was headlining parties at Palladium NYC alongside some of the most respected DJs in the industry. In 1996, Russ broke the US borders and got his first international shows sharing the stage with renowned DJs such as Sasha & Digweed, DJ Rush, Robert Armani, DJ Sneak, and Erick Morillo, among others. Russ has just shy of 30 years in the scene and he has no signs of stopping. He’s still playing events on a regular basis and his last release was in Beatport’s top 10.
