Manny Lehman – Guest Mix
mixed by Manny Lehman
Born and raised in New York City, house music dj/producer, Manny Lehman found his musical influences in by attending legendary clubs such as Studio 54, Xenon, Better Days and primarily, the Paradise Garage. It was at the latter where he met influential music promoter Bobby Shaw who recommended to Charley Grappone, owner of the legendary record store Vinyl Mania, that he should hire him and the rest is history. While manning the counter where Manny assisted in breaking many tunes, Lehman met a vast array of dance music’s most important dj’s/producers and industry professionals, many of whom were the pioneers of a burgeoning house music scene that was taking over Gotham’s nightlife scene during the 80’s & 90s. Simultaneously, Manny also started djing regularly at many highly regarded New York City clubs such as Palladium, Area, Tunnel and Roxy, just to name a few. His passion for the music industry allowed him to delve further into the business, this of which led to his becoming an a&r executive at A&M Records (Herb Alpert’s and Jerry Moss’ label) where he eventually rose to a vp position. While at the label, Manny signed and developed CeCe Peniston and executive produced the worldwide classic hit single, Finally, a song that has remained a club staple since its origin in the 90’s. Throughout the years, Manny maintained a club residency to keep his ear to the street which soon led to his departure from A&M as his career focus as a full-time dj and remixer burgeoned to the extent of becoming one of the most successful and sought after multi formatted global live performer/studio musician.
Nowadays, Manny continues to wow audiences traveling from city to city while sustaining a residency at Los Angeles’ Chapel night club.
